Metrix |

1.5, 1.6, 1.7 |

A: The 'Determine Number Out' user preference
is what determines a new project's default 'Determine Number Out'
property.
When a project's Determine Number Out property is
set to "Auto Calculate", the default value, (as pictured
below) Metrix calculates the best number out of each active product
in a project based upon the requested quantity of each product.
In this case all products in the project will have their "Requested
Out" property disabled and displaying "Auto Calculate"
(pictured two below).

When a project's Determine Number Out property is "Auto
Calculate" all product Requested Out properties are disabled.
However, some printers would rather directly specify
the requested number out of each product based upon some other criteria,
and just have Metrix place the specified number of instances on
the sheet. In this case the project's Determine Number Out property
should be set to "User-Define" (as pictured below). In
this case all products will have their "Requested Out"
property enabled and the user can enter the desired number of instances
for Metrix to automatically create and position on the press sheet
(pictured two below).

When a project's Determine Number Out property is "User-Define"
all product Requested Out properties are enabled.
Companies that use Metrix usually fall into one category
or another, usually wanting Metrix to automatically calculate the
number out of each product or having the user define the number
out. Users can set the default property value in the User Preferences
dialog (available from the Settings menu).
