LithoTechnics to introduce breakthrough JDF
workflow automation with Metrix 1.7 at Print 05, Booth #8745
Chicago, Illinois, September 9, 2005
- LithoTechnics Pty Limited (www.lithotechnics.com) is demonstrating
for the first time at Print 05 the newest version of their
award-winning product, Metrix®. Metrix 1.7 encompasses remarkable
advancements, most notably the ability to export a fully imposed
JDF that passes along content PDF files directly to most major
prepress workflows and RIPs.
Metrix is the world's first automatic layout
calculator, enabling CSR's, production planners, estimators,
and prepress operators to automatically create all types of
layouts, considering production requirements such as trim
size, folding characteristics, run length, bleeds, grain direction,
press capabilities, and postpress processing. Metrix also
reduces the number of press makereadies and plate consumption
by instantly calculating complex ganging layouts, and maximizes
manufacturing potential by enabling planners and estimators
to try various "what-if" scenarios at the click of a button.
Metrix 1.7 includes these important new features:
Passes fully imposed JDFs to prepress workflows
and RIPs including PDF content files and all press sheet
marks.
User-definable product groups so Metrix can
keep each group separate on the sheet.
User-definable alleys between product groups.
User-definable press sheet marks.
Supports up to 160 different products on
a press sheet, each with different run lengths, bleeds,
and grain direction.
Enhancements to the intuitive user interface,
making it easier than ever to create complex, bulletproof
layouts.
"With Metrix 1.7," notes Rohan Holt, LithoTechnics
founder, "we've made a qualitative breakthrough in job planning
automation with JDF. Our customers have been saving hundreds
of thousands of dollars with Metrix, but the latest enhancements
we've added will help them to save even more - it's been exciting
for us to see the promise of JDF automation bear fruit."
Metrix 1.7 will be demonstrated at LithoTechnics'
booth #8745 at Print 05, and at various prepress vendor locations
throughout the show. Metrix 1.7 will also be demonstrated
at the Prism USA booth, #6521.
