LithoTechnics to demonstrate JDF interoperability
with Prism USA at Print 05, Booth #6521
Chicago, Illinois, September 9, 2005
- LithoTechnics Pty Limited (www.lithotechnics.com) is demonstrating for the first time at Print 05 the newest version of their award-winning product, Metrix®. Metrix 1.7 will be used at the Prism USA booth to demonstrate JDF interoperability between the Prism-WIN version 1900 Management Information System and Metrix automated job planning software. Using JDF import/export functionality to pass product descriptions and layouts back and forth, Prism-WIN v.1900 and Metrix 1.7 validate the fact that JDF automation is not only a future promise - it is here today.
"Prism USA is looking forward to demonstrating our enhanced JDF interoperability with the award-winning LithoTechnics Metrix 1.7 software, and is delighted to be showing this functionality on the Prism stand at Print '05," says Leland Morgan, General Manager, Prism USA.
Rohan Holt, LithoTechnics founder adds: "JDF interoperability is a must for 21st century printers, and we are excited to be working with Prism USA to demonstrate the very real benefits to be gained by linking up MIS and automated job planning with Metrix." Holt continues, "By working together, LithoTechnics and Prism USA continue to affirm their commitment to the JDF standard as the path forward to print production automation."
Metrix is the world's first automatic layout calculator, enabling CSR's, production planners, estimators, and prepress operators to automatically create all types of layouts, considering production requirements such as trim size, folding characteristics, run length, bleeds, grain direction, press capabilities, and postpress processing. Metrix also reduces the number of press makereadies and plate consumption by instantly calculating complex ganging layouts, and maximizes manufacturing potential by enabling planners and estimators to try various "what-if" scenarios at the click of a button.
Metrix 1.7 will be demonstrated at LithoTechnics' booth #8745 at Print 05, and at various prepress vendor locations throughout the show.
