Rampage and LithoTechnics Link Up for Improved
Efficiency
Chicago, Illinois, September 9, 2007
- LithoTechnics, Inc., developer of Metrix®, and Rampage
Systems, Inc., developer of Rampage, announced today their
collaboration in bringing to market an integrated and automated
solution for Rampage and Metrix users.
The co-development between the two companies
firstly provides a seamless link between Rampage v10.5 and
Metrix via JDF, allowing for faster throughput and a simplified
correction cycle. Secondly, Metrix 3.0, debuted at GraphExpo
2007, will allow the operator to designate Rampage Profiles
for specific pages and/or press sheets which are exported
inside the JDF. This means when the Metrix job hits the Rampage
RIP it contains not only the imposition information, but also
processing instructions - for example, color separation, screening,
trapping, and so on.
"We are excited about the significant advancement
in print workflow automation these developments bring about,"
said Kevin McSweeney, Vice President of Sales and Marketing,
of Rampage Systems, Inc. "Automation has been our focus
for quite some time now," he continued, "as it is
the key to improved profitability for our customers. Metrix
has proven itself as a valuable tool for many of our users,
who have embraced it as part of their overall strategy to
speed throughput and reduce costs."
Rohan Holt, President of LithoTechnics, Inc.,
commented about the partnership this way: "Many Metrix
users are also Rampage users, so it was natural for us to
look for ways to integrate our products so our common customers
can improve their efficiency, eliminate duplication of effort,
and automate prepress." Holt added, "We see this
integration as a great step forward for our common customers."
